A Frenchie  at Lake Wolfgang in 1964

In 1964, I was selected by Alliance Française (a non-gouvernemental organization for art and culture) to be awardede a scholarship for a stay of six weeks at the Summer School of the Universität Wien – from 27 July to 22 August.

Train from Paris to Salzburg, bus from Salzburg to Strobl-am-Wolfgangsee …and, as a dream, the discoverying of the beautiful Salzkammergut.

The people attending this session came from the States, except two British  .... and two Frenchies (I don’t remember the name of the other one, whom I had no opportunity to meat later).

This scholarship was one of the best experience in my life : german-speaking country, english-speaking fellows, german learning, english speaking. What a scenery, so pleasant and so instructive stay in Strobl !

Following this experience, I attended economic studies at Paris Economic and Law University, I pursued a professional career in banking, especially financing local authorities across Europe and the States. I retired in 2009.

Strobl remains the place where I benefited from my first understanding of the diversity of the world.
